Usually there are two type of tests: suspension (in a solution) and surface tests. These are then performed on different strains
Contact time might vary depending if the test is performed in clean or dirty (presence of soil) conditions
In some cases, virucidal efficacy can be limited to certain type of virus only (eg. only to Influenza).
